Amy Winehouse left behind music - will it be released?

amy-winehouse-singing-getty.jpgSeveral outlets are reporting that the late Amy Winehouse, who tragically passed away at the age of 27 this past Saturday, July 23, left behind a dozen new songs that have yet to be released and the question now is what to do with them.

The AP says spokesman Chris Goodman says that while there is "plenty" of material to release, no talks yet have been held about whether the family will release it. And U.K. paper The Guardian reports an inside source who says Winehouse had put down the framework for multiple new songs.

"Amy had expressed an interest in getting back into the studio, and after some consultation everyone thought that would be a positive thing and a distraction from the other things she was dealing with," the Guardian's source says. "She had put down the bare bones of tracks and some were further along than others."

We'd have to think the fans would relish any new music. Sales of Winehouse's previously released music are up 2000% since her passing.
