Christina Applegate is confirmed to reprise her role as Veronica Corningstone in "Anchorman 2," this according to Entertainment Weekly. Word of the possible casting leaked out in an E! Online interview with film co-star David Koechner.

When asked if Applegate will be in the long-awaited picture, he tells the publication "Yes, yes." Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and Koechner are already confirmed to return for the follow-up to the hit 2004 comedy.

As for what the movie will be about, co-writer and director Adam McKay has previously stated that the film takes place "right when all the news started changing with the 24-hours news cycle in '78 or '79...All of a sudden, local news stations diversified and had Latino anchors and African-American anchors, and any time you're talking about diversity and the Action News team, that's always fun to deal with."

And Veronica Corningstone will be there to cover all of it.
