'Anchorman: The Legend Continues' full trailer arrives: Welcome to the '80s, Ron Burgundy
Ron Burgundy is back, but it doesn't look like he's doing better than ever. Will Ferrell's famed anchorman and his news team have entered the '80s in a new full-length trailer for the upcoming "Anchorman: The Legend Continues," and they matriculate in the new era as well as to be expected.
Beyond his cringe-worthy attempt at breaking down race barriers with Meagan Good's character's family, Ron Burgundy reteams with Champ Kind, Brick Tamland and Brian Fantana as they try to adjust to the '80s by taking a job at a CNN-style 24-hour news station. There they will have to face off against the fresh-faced James Marsden, and likely the legendary newscaster played by Harrison Ford as well.
Christina Applegate's Veronica Corningstone and her son with Ron Burgundy make brief appearances in the trailer, but it's unclear how Ron gets from being happy with her to trying to kiss Good's character. The scene-stealing new addition to the film that can be seen in this trailer is Kristen Wiig, who plays a similarly low-level IQ character who serves as Brick's love interest. It's amazing.
Directed by Adam McKay, "Anchorman: The Legend Continues" also stars Liam Neeson, Vince Vaughn, Nicole Kidman, John C. Reilly and Kanye West. It's due in theaters on Dec. 20, 2013.
