Anderson Cooper professes his love for 'Real Housewives' and 'Hoarders'
As a newsman, Anderson Cooper believed he had to keep certain things close to the vest. As a soon-to-be daytime TV host, though, he's able to open up about a few things.
Like, for instance, his love for the "Real Housewives" franchise and "Hoarders."
"I've been ashamed to admit that I watch 'The [Real] Housewives,'" Cooper told an audience at the PromaxBDA media conference in New York Wednesday (June 29). "Or at least I haven't really talked about it. But now that I'm in daytime TV I can fully reveal how much I like the Housewives."
Cooper's "Housewives" confession -- as well as a story about "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star NeNe Leakes drunk-dialing him -- is in the clip above. A couple more snippets from his conversation with "Early Show" co-anchor Erica Hill (who used to work with Cooper at CNN) are below.
In the first, he talks about some of his other reality-TV obsessions, including "Hoarders" and "Finding Sarah" on OWN. The second clip is about his daytime show "Anderson," which launches this fall and will run the gamut from celebrity interviews to non-famous guests with interesting stories to tell.
"I'm not going to do anything I'm not genuinely interested in," he says. "I think daytime TV works best when it's authentic to who the person is."
Will you be watching "Anderson" this fall?
