Andrea Clevenger of TLC's 'Cheer Perfection' charged with rape of 13-year-old boy
KATV reports that Clevenger, who's been charged with one count of rape and one count of engaging children in sexually explicit conduct for use in a visual or print medium, turned herself in to authorities on Tuesday (Jan. 14). She has since been released, but ordered to wear a GPS ankle monitoring bracelet.
According to KARK, police in Sherwood, Ark. began investigating Clevenger following a tip made to the Arkansas Child Abuse Hotline in November. As the arrest affidavit dated Jan. 13 details, several inappropriate encounters allegedly occurred between the woman, who is 33, and the young boy.
The boy told police the sexual assault happened at least three times, once during a visit to her house and twice in her vehicle. He also told police that Clevenger had sent him pornography and nude photos of herself on his cell phone.
The victim's mother tells police she received an apology from Clevenger, who allegedly said "he doesn't act 13" before saying she would enter rehab.
TLC is steering clear from the matter, issuing the following statement: "TLC doesn't have a comment; Regarding the series, the network made the decision a few months ago not to order more episodes, and we do not air the show in repeats."
"Cheer Perfection" followed a team of young competitive cheerleaders at Cheer Time Revolution in Sherwood.
