Andrew Garfield dresses up in drag in Arcade Fire's 'We Exist' video

Arcade Fire boldly addresses gender identity in their new music video for "We Exist" starring "Amazing Spiderman 2's" Andrew Garfield. The video opens with Garfield's character dressing in women's clothing, completing the look with a blonde wig. He then decides to take his look out on the town, where he runs into a bit of trouble. However, he does sneak in time to channel his inner diva in a "Flash Dance"-inspired dance routine.

"We Exist" is the first single off of the band's recent release "Reflektor" and is described vaguely as following the story of a young person's struggle with gender identity. The lyrics dive into the feelings of coming out: " Daddy it's true, I'm different from you.  But tell me why they treat me like this?  You turn away, what could I say; n ot the first betrayed by a kiss ...  Down on your knees; begging us please. Praying that we don't exist."
