'Anger Management' gets four-week run on FOX to combat ratings declineAdd to Favorites | Anger Management
Beginning June 3, four episodes of "Anger Management," including two first-runs, will air consecutively at 9:30 p.m., replacing repeats of "The Mindy Project." While the time slot it'll occupy isn't exactly a ratings barn burner (the last two weeks of "Mindy" repeats have averaged 1.3 million viewers), any additional eyeballs will be of service to the ailing series.
The May 23 episode of "Anger Management" averaged just 777,000 viewers, making it the third-lowest-rated episode in the series' brief history. In fact, the comedy was outperformed on the network that night by a repeat of another Sheen series, "Two and a Half Men."
Though the unique 10-90 pick-up model may not be proving too wise for FX at the moment, the network hasn't turned its back on it. Just this April, the cabler ordered a George Lopez-starring series that follows the same model.
