Angus T. Jones makes first post-'Two and a Half Men' appearance with crazy beardAdd to Favorites | Two and a Half Men
In the year since Angus T. Jones made his dramatic exit from "Two and a Half Men," the former child actor has done some growing up -- questionable facial hair and all.
Making his first public appearance since leaving the CBS hit comedy, Jones sat down with KHOU News in Houston, Texas on Sunday (March 16) -- sporting a wild beard -- and opened up about his departure from Hollywood and his new religious calling.
"It was difficult for me to be on the show and be part of something that was making light of topics in our world where there are really problems for a lot of people," Jones says of the sitcom on which he co-starred for nearly 10 years. "I was a paid hypocrite because I wasn't OK with it and I was still doing it."
Jones admits he feels guilty for the way he publicly criticized the show and its creator, Chuck Lorre, but doesn't back down from his 2012 assertions that the series is "filth."
"That's his, like, baby and I just totally insulted his baby and to that degree, I am apologetic, but otherwise, I don't regret saying what I said," he says.
These days, Jones is studying in Colorado and working with the World Harvest Outreach Church in Houston, but he hasn't entirely ruled out a possible return to acting. "There's a few different productions that, like, do kind of Bible-based stories," he says. "Stuff like that."
