annasophia-robb-gi.jpgRegardless of whether or not there's a third "Sex and the City" movie, the hit franchise is far from being over. The CW has ordered a pilot of "The Carrie Diaries," based on Candace Bushnell's novel about a teenage Carrie Bradshaw, and now the network has found an actress to fill Sarah Jessica Parker's stilettos.

AnnaSophia Robb has landed the starring role in the prequel pilot, Entertainment Weekly reports. The series is set in the 1980s, when high-schooler Carrie first discovers her infatuation with New York City.

The 18-year-old Robb is mostly known for her work in movies, most recently starring in "Soul Surfer" and other kiddie fare like "Race to Witch Mountain," "Bridge to Terabithia" and the remake of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory."

"The Carrie Diaries" comes from "Gossip Girl" creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, and costars Stefania Owen ( "Running Wilde") as Carrie's 14-year-old sister Dorrit.
