Anne Frank House defends Justin Bieber's 'Belieber' comment
Many people have criticized Justin Bieber for the comment he left in the guest book at the Anne Frank House, but those who run the museum think the pop star shouldn't come under fire. A spokeswoman defended Bieber following the negative response to his visit.
"His comments were quite innocent," the spokeswoman for the Anne Frank House tells Reuters. "He was here for more than hour and interested in Anne Frank's life and that for us is the most important thing."
It wasn't the fact that Bieber visited the museum that set people off, but rather the way he responded to the experience. As one Zap2it commenter wrote, "Justin Bieber makes his visit to the Anne Frank house all about Justin Bieber. Unbelievable."
Bieber's comment in the museum's guestbook reads, "Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber."
