Judging by the early reviews of "Les Miserables" that are trickling in, Anne Hathaway is a shoe-in for a Best Actress Oscar nomination. Her depiction of Fantine in the trailer alone broke our heart, and Hathaway's decision to shave her head and drop 25 pounds for the part show her dedication to the role.

But Hathaway's take on her transformation isn't as serious as one might think. Following a recent screening of the movie, Hathaway reportedly told the audience, "When I eventually looked in the mirror I just thought I looked like my gay brother."

All for the sake of method acting, it seems. Hathaway opened up in a recent of Vogue to talk about her starling weight loss and what it took for her to get into Fantine's mentality. "I had to be obsessive about it -- the idea was to look near death," she recalled. "Looking back on the whole experience -- and I don't judge it in any way -- it was definitely a little nuts. It was definitely a break with reality, but I think that's who Fantine is anyway."
