Anthony Weiner confronts heckler in bakery, draws ire online

Ex-congressman and current New York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner is back in the news this week -- he previously made headlines for his sexting scandal involving several women -- after a video of Weiner having a heated confrontation with a potential constituent in a bakery in Brooklyn made its way onto the internet.

However, the first video that was posted online picks up with Weiner saying, "Takes one to know one" and heading back inside the bakery to confront someone (posted above).

But the Weiner camp has released its own video of the incident (below) that starts several seconds earlier, when the heckler can be heard saying to Weiner, "You're a real scumbag. Married to an Arab. You're disgusting."

The heckler is referencing Huma Abedin, Weiner's wife and former deputy chief of staff to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

After the first video hit the 'net, a reporter for the New York Observer says on Twitter, "@anthonyweiner absolutely melts down at voter in Boro Park. Story coming...," to which Weiner responds, "if by melt down you mean stood up to a heckler. Yep. Did that. That's what Mayors have to do sometimes."

Weiner later tells reporters, "You're allowed to say stuff to me, but if you're going to say vile things about me and my family you should expect that I'm going to go back at you. When you start saying vile and racist things about my wife ... I think he deserved to be put in his place."

Still, many online feel that it was decidedly "unmayoral" of Weiner to head back into the bakery and confront the man.

What do you think, readers?
