It's been a while since John Barrowman's character of Malcolm Merlyn has been seen on "Arrow" Season 2. Briefly thought to be dead, Merlyn returned to harass Moira Queen in the first half of the season.

And then she got rid of him by threatening the League of Assassins.

Obviously, this could not possibly be the last audiences have seen of the villain. Now it looks like Barrowman ("Torchwood," "Doctor Who") might be back at the role before Season 2 ends, if a post to WhoSay is anything to go by.

The photo, posted on Thursday (April 3), is a close-up of Barrowman and Willa Holland, who plays Thea Queen -- the illegitimate daughter of Merlyn. If you play the audio, the clowning-around actors talk about lipstick and paternity.

There aren't any spoilers about Merlyn in the post, but it does indicate that at some recent point, Barrowman was in the vicinity of the "Arrow" set and hanging out with the actors. What this truly means for the end of Season 2 remains to be seen.

"Arrow" airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
