"Arrow" Season 3 is bringing back Tommy Merlyn (Colin Donnell), but this is not a resurrection from the dead. Instead, Tommy will show up in one of Oliver's flashbacks in Hong Kong.

According to TVGuide.com, the Tommy appearance will be in episode 2 of the upcoming season. There will not, unfortunately, be any Oliver-Tommy interaction based on the brief description offered by executive producer Andrew Kreisberg.

"We'll be telling the story about how Tommy and Oliver just missed each other in Hong Kong," Kreisberg says. "It's a really amazing story and we're so excited to have Colin Donnell back. It's one of the advantages of the storytelling that we do that even when you die in the present day, you can still be alive in the flashbacks."

This will mark the second return of Donnell to "Arrow" since Tommy's tragic death in the Season 1 finale.

"Arrow" Season 3 premieres Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
