Navid Negahban played a bad guy on "Homeland" and it looks like he is going to play a bad guy on "Arrow." The actor behind the character of Abu Nazir has been cast in the guest-starring role of al-Awwal on "Arrow" Season 2.

Negahban's character of al-Awwal -- Arabic for "The First" -- will appear in episode five, according to E!Online.  The TV villain will be a meticulous and deadly man who is coming after someone very close to Oliver Queen ( Stephen Amell). Al-Awwal is also fairly handy with a scimitar.

"Arrow" interview: Emily Bett Rickards talks Olicity shippers and Felicity's personal life.

Although likely to differ greatly from his comic-book persona, al-Awwal does come from the world of DC Comics. He is known as one of the members of the League of Assassins, an organization led by the nefarious Ra's al-Ghul. Merlyn -- re-imagined as Malcolm Merlyn for the TV show -- is also a member of this group.

This will be a big season for guest stars on "Arrow." Summer Glau, Caity Lotz and Bex Taylor-Klaus have all been announced as recurring characters on the show.

"Arrow" Season 2 premieres Oct. 9 on The CW.
