"I still dance, and you know, it kind of gave me a definite kickstart into being healthier and stronger, so it's something I keep up with," the former "DWTS" cast member and LGBT activist tells Zap2It. "I dance once a week; I do mix martial arts twice a week and weights."

Bono, who also stars in the forthcoming documentary, " Becoming Chaz," a story about his transition from woman to man, walked the red carpet at the 2012 GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday night (April 21), attending the ceremony as an honoree and nominee. For the longtime civil rights proponent, the organization is the utmost signifier of his beliefs in social equality.

"I think probably of all the organizations, I really believe in the work that GLAAD does," he says. "And I just think that so much of the cultural change that happens for the LGBT community happens in the media. This organization is very close to my heart."

The reality star also offered his opinion on right-wing talk show host Bill O'Reilly's recent rant that having a transgender character on " Glee" could prove a negative influence on children, who would then begin to experiment in more open sexuality.

"I think he says that because he's Bill O'Reilly," Bono remarks. "I would like to ask him, if he had watched that as a kid, would he have experimented? He grew up in the '60s, I'm sure there was a lot of that going around. He saw it. So, I think, I mean I don't know if what he says may be for ratings, but I would just ask him, if he had watched that as a kid, would he have done anything different?"

As far as his own love life goes, Bono remains single and looking, ready when the right opportunity drifts along his path.

How would he describe his ideal lady?

"Somebody that's thinks I'm interesting enough to risk me asking her out on a date," he laughs.

" Becoming Chaz" premieres on OWN May 10th.
