"It came up just like any other project for a young actor, just another audition," Davern tells Zap2it. "When I got the script initially the first time, I got it, I fell in love with it. Even in putting them in these over-the-top situations it was unlike any other teen show I read."

Davern plays Jake, the blond all-around nice guy on MTV's teen comedy.

"In Season 1, he was there for Jenna when she needed him most," Davern says. "He is always that good guy. Deep down there is a whole range of emotions we have not seen yet."

So in Season 2 (starting Sunday, June 28) does he become a brooding monster?

"Season 2 is such a fan friendly season," Davern says. "It is everything Season 1 was but now it is on steroids -- the comedy, the drama, the different love stories. If fans had any questions about Season 1, it will all be answered in Season 2, and that leads to more questions. It is so much fun seeing all the things Jenna gets herself into."
