'Awkward' Season 3 premiere date announced, new trailer offers spoilers galore

awkward-jenna-ashley-rickards-320.jpgBig news, "Awkward" fans! MTV has finally announced a premiere date for Season 3 of everyone's favorite uncomfortable teen comedy: The show will return Tuesday, April 16 with two back-to-back episodes at 10 p.m. EST.

The season begins with Jake (Brett Davern) and Tamara (Jillian Rose Reed) returning from their sexy summer abroad in Europe, while Jenna (Ashley Rickards) and Matty (Beau Mirchoff) have been hanging out at summer camp.

Unfortunately, Jake and Tamara being all coupled up definitely makes things a little weird for Jenna and Matty... and the absurdly hunky new kid, Colin (Nolan Funk), isn't going to go unnoticed either. Additionally, look for teen genre icon Anthony Michael Hall to guest star as a sadistic creative writing teacher who adds a very new energy to the school.

It's not all fun and games. MTV teases, "In the season three premiere episode Jenna's junior year brings a wave of surprises and changes that potentially will impact her future in an indelible way and in the second episode, the death of classmate will leave Jenna to reflect on loss, grieving, and taking responsibility for a secret she's keeping from Matty."

Yikes. Tune in Tuesday, April 16 at 10 p.m. EST.

You're welcome!
