Barbara Walters' 'Most Fascinating People' for 2012 include One Direction and Chris Christie

barbara-walters-one-direction-most-fascinating.jpg One Direction, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Ben Affleck are among the most interesting people in the world this year, according to Barbara Walters.

They all made the list for Walters' annual "10 Most Fascinating People" special, which is set to air next month. ABC has released a partial list of subjects for the show.

Others on the list include "Fifty Shades of Grey" author E L James, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas and "Family Guy" creator/soon-to-be Oscar host Seth MacFarlane. The most fascinating person of all will be revealed during the broadcast.

The "10 Most Fascinating People" special is now in its 20th year. It's scheduled to air at 9:30 p.m. ET Dec. 12 on ABC.
