kerry-ehrin-freddie-highmore-nbc-comedy-gi.jpgSome funny romance is coming out of the darkness that is "Bates Motel." Its star, Freddie Highmore, and co-creator, Kerry Ehrin, have teamed up to write a romantic comedy half-hour series set in the world of venture capitalism, and NBC is a fan.

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that NBC is giving a script commitment to the currently untitled project. According to the site, the show is about "the intimate relationship between an overly emotional but talented female executive and her ambitious and eccentric young British assistant."

It's unclear if Highmore will star in the series beyond executive producing and co-writing the pilot. This will be the recent Cambridge University grad's first time writing a pilot. Apparently the gem of this idea came from a discussion Ehrin and Highmore had at the 2014 Critics Choice Awards.
