Whatever is going on in the teaser trailer for "Bates Motel," it's not showing Norman Bates' stable state of mind. Freddie Highmore's riff on the classic Alfred Hitchcock character took a dark turn at the end of Season 1, and it doesn't look like things get much better for Norman in the upcoming Season 2.

A recent poster for "Bates Motel" Season 2 promised that the show will return in 2014, but didn't offer much in the way of teases of what the new episodes could be about. This video seems to show that Norman will get more involved in taxidermy -- though the teaser goes about doing it in the creepiest way possible.

Zap2it recently spoke to Highmore and Nestor Carbonell about the show's upcoming second season, and both teased that the murder Norman seemingly committed at the end of Season 1 will be dealt with early on.

"At that moment with Miss Watson it's not immediately obvious which conclusion to draw. This show is infinitely more exciting for that, especially when your main characters are so ambiguous, you find yourself almost rooting for Norman despite the fact you know he's going to become this infamous serial killer," Highmore says. "That conflict is what makes the show fun -- for me, anyway."
