'Battlestar's' James Callis joins 'Eureka,' Marsha Thomason back on 'White Collar'
Elsewhere, Marsha Thomason is rejoining the cast of USA's "White Collar," and George Clooney's girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis will guest on TNT's "Leverage."
Production on "Eureka's" fourth season begins this week, with Callis joining returning regulars Colin Ferguson, Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Erica Cerra, Joe Mortan, Niall Matter and Neil Grayston. Callis will play a character named Dr. Grant, a former Eureka resident whose return to the town sets people on edge. He also has a thing for Allison (Richardson-Whitfield), which causes friction with Sheriff Carter (Ferguson).
Callis, who played Gaius Baltar on "Battlestar Galactica," will also be seen in a guest arc on ABC's "FlashForward" later this season.
At USA, Thomason ("Lost," "Las Vegas") is making something of an unusual return to "White Collar." She played an FBI agent named Diana Lancing in the show's pilot, but when the show was picked up to series, her character was replaced by Natalie Morales' Lauren Cruz.
Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Morales is saying goodbye to "White Collar," and Thomason will come back in as Diana. The show's second season is scheduled to debut later this year.
Canalis will make her American TV-series debut on "Leverage" this summer. Canalis, best known here as Clooney's girlfriend of the past several months, will play a mysterious character known only as "The Italian" in five episodes. The native of Sardinia, Italy, has numerous credits as an actress and TV presenter in her home country.
