'Battlestar's' Michael Trucco faces 'Kate,' 'Wizards' actress is 'Harriet the Spy'
"Battlestar Galactica's" Michael Trucco and "How I Met Your Mother" actress Virginia Williams have joined Sarah Shahi for the USA pilot "Facing Kate," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The series follows Kate (Shahi), a lawyer who gets a divorce and then shifts careers to become a mediator after the death of her dad who headed up a law firm.
Williams will play Kate's younger widowed stepmother, while Trucco will play Kate's ex, a charming attorney who still harbors feelings for her.
Trucco played Anders on "Battlestar," while Williams appeared as Claudia on a few episodes of "How I Met Your Mother" and guest starred on USA's "In Plain Sight."
In other casting news, Jennifer Stone, who plays best friend Harper on "Wizards of Waverly Place," has been chosen to star in Disney Channel's TV movie adaptation of "Harriet the Spy," playing the lead, Harriet M. Welsch.
Based on the Louise Fitzhugh children's book, the new "Harriet" will be a movie producer's daughter who wants to be the class blogger. There will be some dancing elements involved as well with choreography courtesy of "So You Think You Can Dance" contestant Blake McGrath.
"Harriet" has been adapted before, 1996 big screen version starring Michelle Trachtenberg.
