In light of the deaths of American journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff, the BBC has removed a beheading sequence from the upcoming "Doctor Who" episode titled "Robots of Sherwood."

In a statement to the Radio Times, the BBC says, "In light of recent news events, we have made an edit to episode three out of respect." Initially, there was to be a beheading during the final battle between Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham in the episode.

Foley and Sotloff were beheaded by extremist group ISIS (Islamic State of Syria and Iraq), who uploaded videos of the killings Aug. 19 and Sept. 2 respectively. The group blames their actions on United States intervention in Iraq.

The "Doctor Who" episode "Robots of Sherwood" airs Saturday, Sept. 6, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on BBC America.
