kristin-kreuk-beauty-and-the-beast-gallery-cw-325.jpgThe CW has officially picked up another nine episodes of "Beauty and the Beast," bringing the paranormal romance to a full 22-episode season. With "Arrow" also looking forward to a full season, that leaves "Emily Owens, M.D." as the sole fall freshman series on the network without official word on the back nine.

With an average of 2.4 million viewers and a 0.9 rating among adults 18-34, "Beauty and the Beast" is holding its own in the Thursday night slot following "The Vampire Diaries."

In other "Beauty and the Beast" news, we'll be meeting a new recurring player shortly after the holiday hiatus. Producers are currently casting the role of David, a "handsome, charming, witty police psychologist." Here's the twist -- he's assigned to determine if Cat should be allowed back into the field after she's suspended from investigation. The real trouble is that he's on to her lies, and he's not afraid to call her out. Uh-oh.
