'Being Human' canceled by BBC after five seasons
The U.K. original premiered its fifth season Feb. 3 in the U.K. but the BBC announced that this year's finale will wrap up the show with an "apocalyptic end." The current trio of stars -- Damien Molony as vampire Hal, Michael Socha as werewolf Tom and Kate Bracken as ghost Alex -- will face off against the devil.
Executive producer Rob Pursey noted in a statement: "Working on 'Being Human' has been a truly great experience. From the first one-hour pilot, all the way through to this climactic series, we've been given real creative freedom and encouragement. It's a credit to BBC Three that such an unusual idea has been allowed to flourish and evolve in its own unique way."
Creator Toby Whithouse wrote about the decision on the official "Being Human" blog: "We've created what I hope you'll agree is an epic, thrilling and shocking finale that'll keep the fans guessing and speculating for years to come."
