Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman reunite on 'The Hobbit' last dayAdd to Favorites | Sherlock
"Sherlock" fans, rejoice! We might need to wait until 2014 for Season 3 of the beloved show to air, but at least we can all geek out over a Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman reunion now. The two actors were photographed together on their last day shooting "The Hobbit."
Freeman plays the titular hobbit Bilbo Baggins in the movie, while Cumberbatch voices the dragon Smaug, so don't expect the two of them to physically appear on screen together. Still, it's adorable to see them get goofy in their off time. "Smaug admires Bilbo's feet," Jackson posts.
In a separate photo, Jackson writes about Martin's last day on set. "Tonight Martin Freeman finished his last shot as Bilbo Baggins. The end of an incredible two and a half years. I cannot imagine anyone else in this role - a character that Martin has nurtured and crafted with love and great skill," he says. "We have said goodbye to our elves, humans, wizards and now the hobbit. We now enter our final 2 weeks of pick-ups, and it's wall to wall dwarves. These pick-ups have been gruelling and intense, but I'm so happy with what we've been shooting. These next two movies are going to be pretty great!"
"The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" hits theaters on Dec. 13, while "The Hobbit: There and Back Again" comes out on Dec. 17, 2014.
