"This evening we would like to offer prayers and support and hope to the extraordinary Nelson Mandela and his family, and to the people of South Africa," Cheadle says to applause from the crowd. "Mr. Mandela, we salute you and we wish you well."

Mandela is currently hospitalized, and millions around the world have held vigil for the anti-apartheid former South African president. The 94-year-old's health is reportedly deteriorating, but his  daughter Makaziwe came forward recently to say all hope is not lost. "I won't lie, it doesn't look good," she said. "But as I say, if we speak to him, he responds and tries to open his eyes. He's still there."
