Every year since 2008, BET has set aside a day during February, national Black History Month, to pay tribute to the achievements of African-American luminaries, both in and out of the entertainment industry.

The 2014 BET Honors, hosted by Wayne Brady, were presented to Nelson Mandela (Humanitarian), Ice Cube (Entertainment), Aretha Franklin (Music), Kenneth Chenault (Corporate Citizen), Berry Gordy (Visionary) and Carrie Mae Weems (Visual Arts). The ceremony also included musical performances from Mariah Carey, Janelle Monae, Jennifer Hudson, Tamar Braxton, Smokey Robinson and Karen Clark Sheard.

The 2014 Honors included many notable moments and luckily, BET documented several of them on Instagram. Take a look at some of the highlights below.
