Now that Bethenny Frankel has officially filed for divorce from husband Jason Hoppy, her dirty laundry is out for the world to see. Her divorce papers have already been analyzed and her living situation has been checked up on, which is a bit surreal even for the former "Real Housewives of New York City" star.

"It's difficult," she tells Ellen DeGeneres in a new interview. "Do I want to be doing this exact thing right now? No, but I can't just only be on reality TV and show everything when it's a fairy princess fairy tale and then not take my hits when I have to. I mean, I've had sort of the best worst year ever."

In addition to her failed marriage, Frankel also feels like she's failed her fans. DeGeneres confirms that she privately saw Frankel fight to save her relationship with Hoppy, but the "Bethenny" host admits that having to go through a divorce after her "fairy tale" marriage is something she never wanted to do.

"I feel like a bit of a disappointment to all of you and I feel like a failure," Frankel says while getting choked up. "Yeah, I feel like a failure. I really put it out there. I wanted the fairy tale, I thought I had it."

She adds of her 2-year-old daughter with Hoppy, "Bryn is my fairy tale."
