beyonce-medley-mtv-vmas-2014-vanguard-award.jpgBeyonce is a feminist, y'all -- and she showed the crowd at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards (and the audience at home) what that means with a medley of her surprise visual album, "Beyonce," a teary speech accepting the Vanguard award and an adorable on-camera Carter-Knowles family moment.

The 15-minute "Beyonce" medley featured every song from the album -- even the ones she doesn't perform on tour, like "Blow" and "Rocket" -- tons of toned dancer legs, plenty of reaction shots from her husband Jay Z and dancing daughter Blue Ivy, and a short lesson on feminism for a generation of young viewers via the words of the Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie speech she samples in "***Flawless."

Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Sam Smith and plenty more celebs danced along while presumably staring at Beyonce's butt, because it was on display in every song (and she commanded us not to take our eyes off it in "Rocket," so we kind of had to oblige).

After the performance, she tearfully accepted the Vanguard award presented by her husband (who was holding their adorable, applauding daughter) while the crowd cheered "Beyonce."
