Beyonce's gay marriage anthem: 'If you like it, you should be able to put a ring on it'

beyonce-gay-marriage-getty.jpgCelebrities and non-celebrities alike are showing their support for gay marriage online this week, as the Supreme Court of the United States hears oral arguments on Prop 8, the ban on gay marriage in California, and DOMA, the Defense of Marriage Act that denies certain rights to gay couples that straight couples are afforded.

Beyonce got in on the action Wednesday (March 27), tweeting the photo below that shows Queen B putting a play on the lyrics to her hit "Single Ladies."

"If you like it, you should be able to put a ring on it. #wewillunite4marriageequality! - B"

She followed up with a tweet of the pink equal sign on the red background, a variation on the normally blue and yellow logo of the Human Rights Campaign. Beyonce tweets the gay marriage version and writes, " it's about time #equality #prop8 #marriageislove, show your support!!"
