Behind the scenes, the cast of TV's biggest comedy is preparing to begin contract negotiations, a cycle that has kicked off with the series' newest cast additions, Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch. Deadline reports that the two actresses, who began as recurring guest stars before becoming regular players in 2010, have renegotiated their current salaries, which have been in the $20,000-$30,000 range per episode. They're reportedly doubled their salary, somewhere in the range of $60,000 per episode this season, with a pay increase every year to reach nearly $100,000 per episode by the end of their contracts.
As a result of the successful negotiations, both Bialik and Rauch are said to have added a year to their current deals.
The entire original cast is due to enter into contract negotiations this year, with their deals expiring at the end of the season. As they did in 2010, leads Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco are expected to negotiate in one group, with Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar in another. It's expected that Galecki, Parsons and Cuoco, who currently earn around $350,000 an episode, will land north of $500,000 when the dust settles.
