'Big Bang Theory's' Johnny Galecki opens up about Kaley Cuoco secret relationship
"The Big Bang Theory" contained a secret off-screen romance for two years of its run. Though it's since been revealed, Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco kept their relationship under the radar while it lasted.
Three years ago Cuoco spilled the beans about the two year period of time she called Galecki her boyfriend, and now Galecki is telling his side of the story. In an interview with CBS Watch! Magazine (via Us Weekly) he reveals why he's stayed so hush-hush about their relationship.
"I just don't like to speak about it. And not because I'm trying to be enigmatic; I just worry that it will conflict with people's acceptance of Leonard and Penny," he says. "I get the curiosity, but I don't want to distract from the story."
Don't think there are any hard feelings between the pair, especially with Cuoco's recent engagement to Ryan Sweeting. "We're dear friends, still," Galecki says. "Kaley's not just an ex, she's a part of my life."
Cuoco echoed similar sentiments when she told CBS Watch! about their relationship back in 2010. "We dated for almost two years. It was such a huge part of my life and no one knew about it," she said at the time. "It was a wonderful relationship, but we never spoke a word about it and never went anywhere together."
She added, "[We were] so protective of ourselves and the show, and we didn't want anything to ruin that. ... We knew we weren't destined to be together. We accepted it and said, 'Look, if we ever break up, we will be professional.' I'm so lucky it was a mutual ending and that we don't hate each other."
