'Big Brother 12': Andrew's crazy speech
Previously: Hayden and Kristen are in a secret showmance, Matt won HoH and nominated Andrew and Kathy, Brendon won POV preventing The Brigade's backdoor plan, and Andrew lost his marbles.
Everyone thinks Andrew is crazy, because Andrew is crazy. Rachel in particular is perturbed by Andrew's speech and immediately gets in a fight with Brendon about it. They are toxic. Can we have more of Hayden and Kristen instead, please? Ugh. Later, Brendon tells Rachel he loves her and it doesn't even register. One: too soon, dude. Two: really? Sigh.
Matt believes he is on to Andrew and Brendon's plan, so he brings Andrew into the HoH room and calls him out. Andrew tries to convince him that he was being honest, but Andrew knows he's caught. Matt suggests that he have one-on-ones with with everyone in the house to shore up some votes.
A frustrated and lonely Andrew gets the idea that Kristen and Kathy are conspiring against him, and completely and totally loses his stuff. For real. Instead of talking to Kristen about it like an adult, he does a strange passive aggressive drive-by to both Kristen and Kathy, which leads to a big blow-up fight. Instead of working against him, though, this just might be to his benefit when The Brigade figures that having someone in the house to divert attention away from them would be a good thing.
Meet Matt's Wife
This week's "get to know your houseguests" segment is centered around Matt. We meet his very non-sick wife Stacey, who as perhaps the thickest Chicago accent of all time. We actually get an interesting tidbit of information when we learn that Stacey had no idea he was going to lie about her having an illness, and she frankly does not approve. Still, that didn't stop her from helping him in her letter. (I would like to clearly state that I think this is BULL and should not be allowed. Carrying on.) In his HoH interview, Matt recognizes that he has probably offended people with his plan, but he's playing to win and will do anything to make that happen.
Andrew, who obviously knows he is on his way out of the door, decides to take Kristin down with him, revealing her secret romance with Hayden and telling everyone else anything he's heard her and Hayden say about the other houseguests. It's impressive in both its speed and its breadth. If he was thinking his last minute firebombing/plea was going to sway hearts and minds, he was mistaken and is unanimously evicted. Hilariously, in his exit interview Julie gives Andrew some seriously solid "what if?" strategy advice, and you can tell he wishes he would have thought of it when he was still in the house. Ha!
The game this week is " Big Brother Knockout." Two at a time, the houseguests will face off against each other in answering questions about previous competitions from the summer so far. The first person to answer correctly stays in the game, loser is out. The winner also gets to choose the next two to face off. The last person standing wins HoH. Sort of awesomely, the game devolves into a battle to the death between Rachel and Kristen, with both obviously gunning for each other. After Lane knocks out Kristen, though, Rachel manages to take down Lane for her second HoH of the season. Hmm. You think she's going to nominate Hayden and Kristen? Because I certainly do.
As the credits roll, we see that Andrew's speech is already having repercussions in the house, with Rachel and Kristin getting into it. My theory? Rachel is going to pull the highly hypocritical "How DARE they have a relationship and/or be in an alliance?" card. Bring on the drama!
- Dear Matt, please put a shirt on under your hoodie. Unfortunately I cannot unsee what has already been seen, but let's try to prevent further trauma to me eye holes, okay? Thanks so much. Love, Carrie.
- IF RACHEL DOESN'T STOP SHOUTING IN THE DIARY ROOM AND ACCUSING PEOPLE OF COMING BETWEEN HER AND BRENDON I'M GOING TO LOSE IT. SHE'S MAKING ME ALL CAPSY. (I'm taking a trip to L.A. in a few weeks. I know where the house is. Don't tempt me, Rachel.)
- Pandora's Box is coming, meaning a new Saboteur! Let's hope this one doesn't flame out quite so quickly, okay, Big Brother?
- "I am so sick of living in a house full of haters." - Rachel
- "The way his brain works isn't like anybody else's. He's extremely intelligent, but he lacks all common sense." - Stacey, Matt's wife
- "I vote to institutionalize and evict Andrew." - Ragan
