'Big Brother 12's' Lane wants to 'align with the guy with the brains'

lane-elenburg-big-brother-12.jpg Lane Elenburg, a 24-year-old oil rig salesman from Decatur, TX, is one of the new hamsters on "Big Brother 12." He tells Zap2it about his strategy and how he'll probably clash with another Alpha Male.

When asked why he wanted to do the show, Lane laughs, "Who doesn't want to go on 'Big Brother?' There are tons of people who would love to be in my position right now."

We like that attitude. He also says "Big Brother" is like his life. "I lie to people all the time ... I compete every day of my life." We aren't sure if he's kidding or not, but either way -- cheers.

Lane says his favorite player was Dan from "Big Brother 11" because Dan "had the brains." And Russell and Jessie were his least favorites, due to temper and arrogance.

And what about a strategy going into the house? "Well, your strategy changes once you get in there. For right now, all I can do is go in there and try to make friends with everyone. I do that anyways, I like talking to people and having a good relationship with people."

He feels like he'll clash with another Alpha Male or "meathead," and that for an alliance, he's going to look for "the guy with the brains." Lane says, "If you have the brains, I'll do your dirty work all you want."

"Big Brother 12" premieres Thursday, July 12 on CBS.
