'Big Brother 13's' Lawon: 'I should have followed my gut from the begining'

kalia-lawon-daniele-big-brother-13.jpg Lawon Exum got eliminated from "Big Brother 13" in a fairly boneheaded way - he offered himself up on the block under the assumption he'd get to come back, with a special power to boot.  But he had to compete his way back in and Brendon bested him in a head-to-head competition. Lawon tells Zap2it about his time in the house.

Are you glad you went on Big Brother? Was it everything you hoped it would be?

"I am so glad I went on Big Brother. It was a bucket list I could check off for my life. It was NOT what I expected! You go in there with the notion of how to play the game and your strategy and my season was very 'Expect the unexpected.' I did not expect to be going in there playing against the veterans or playing as a duo, so your strategy is just out the door right away because how will you play with someone and their strategy and against duos who have already been in the game. So it was just like culture shock."

Why on earth did you volunteer to go up as a pawn?

"Because I thought it would make my game strategy better. I thought it would be some kind of power to go up as a pawn and I thought it would help my alliance to go further in the game. But as the day came closer to eviction, I realized I made a huge mistake and as the saying goes 'Loose lips sink ships'!"

Were you surprised Brendon won America's Vote to return to the house?

"Oh no! That was not a surprise at all. Daniele knew in her heart that he would probably be coming back, but I feel if Kalia had thought things through she would not have put me up as a pawn. I think it was to benefit her in the game and not the full alliance."

Do you regret not making stronger moves with the newbies early in the game when you had the numbers?

"Yes and no... yes because I had alliances with the newbies from the beginning, with Dominic and Cassi, it was just the other newbies were all over the place and I just didn't feel that they were trustworthy. By the time I realized not to trust the other newbies, it was too late because they had already been making deals with the veterans. I liked the veterans too because they were giving me tips as well, but Daniele was the only one I trusted in terms of the veterans. The only regret I have is that I should have followed my gut from the beginning of the game."

Do you think the Newbies stand a chance against Jeff/Jordan/Brendon/Rachel now?

"No. I don't think they stand a chance because [the Veterans] are going to be gunning for Kalia now, and I think they persuaded Shelly and Adam to join their side in the game. I think one of the Veterans will win because the newbies didn't stick together when we had the numbers. We didn't put enough trust in each other at the beginning of the game."

Who are you rooting for to make it to the end?

"Daniele. I am rooting for her because she knows the game, she is a great competitor and also, she is a pajama jammer which was my alliance and if I had to pick any of my alliance members to win, I have to pick Daniele because she is playing strategically, she's not playing emotionally and she is not playing the game personally. Go Dani!"

Any messages to your fans?

"Thank you all who supported me throughout the game. If I disappointed you, please charge it to my mind and not my heart. I played the game the way I thought I could play it and this experience, I will have it for a lifetime. I'll never forget the fans that supported me through the game. And, I will always go out Handsomefied!"

"Big Brother" airs Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday nights on  CBS. Don't forget - it's not too late to sign up for the live feeds and this week should be a good week to watch, with Brendon being back.
