big-brother-16-frankie-grande-grandfather-dies.jpgNews broke Wednesday (July 23) via Ariana Grande's Twitter account that her grandfather had passed away. She assured her followers that brother Frankie Grande would not be leaving the "Big Brother 16" house, which was what her grandpa wanted.

Warning: Minor spoilers ahead.

We were wondering if Frankie would be told about Grandpa Frank's passing and later Wednesday night we got our answer. Frankie emerged from the Diary Room just prior to 4:30 p.m. PT and informed the houseguests that production let him have a letter from his family explaining about his grandfather's death.

The houseguests were very understanding and for a while, game play stopped, as Frankie sat around telling stories about his grandfather and receiving consolation from his fellow houseguests. A little after 9 p.m. PT, Frankie eulogized his grandpa by speaking directly to the live feeds cameras, which is interesting because that's the kind of stuff in the past that would get you trouble with production.

Anyway, he also tells the hamsters that he'll be recording a video in the DR to send to his grandpa's funeral. You can still sign up for the live feeds if you'd like to rewind and watch how it all went down.

Other than that sad news, it was a quiet night in the BB16 house. It's a foregone conclusion that Brittany is going home this week, so that's four relatively boring evictions in a row. These hamsters need to liven things up.
