At a show like the 2013 Billboard Music Awards, you never know exactly what kind of fashion you're going to get. Fortunately, stars like Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, Stana Katic and more brought the glamour to the show's blue carpet.

Selena Gomez was an early arrival to walk the carpet, but her dress still managed to be one of the night's best. The deceptively simple, mostly white gown had an interesting and almost gravity-defying design. With a strangely beautiful cut-away strip and neon-colored trim, this was a dress you can't forget.

Another big star who did her fashion right was Taylor Swift, rocking the carpet in a shiny and bright blue dress. Even without the almost Spider-Man-looking patterns all over the fabric, this splash of color on a night otherwise dominated by black and white was gorgeous.

Jennifer Lopez was another star bringing some color to the carpet. In her case, gold and metallic defined a barely decent dress. But if JLo can't wear an ultra low-cut style, who can?

"Castle" actress Stana Katic had an interesting and daring fashion choice of her own for the show. Obviously inspired by the 1970s in everything from her hair to her bellbottoms, Katic wore a pants-suit with a top cut down almost to her navel. We're talking full-on original "Charlie's Angels" on this one.

The stars didn't have to be daring to look great though. Actress Emmy Rossum ( "Shameless") and singer Shania Twain both arrived in classic and beautiful dresses. Rossum's featured intricate patterns of peephole trim on black fabric, while Twain looked like a Greek statue in her draping and silvery dress.

Who wore your favorite fashions of the night?
