Billboard Music Awards 2014: The 'Rising Star' judges could use some work
Ludacris, Kesha and Brad Paisley are the recently-announced judges panel for ABC's new reality singing competition show "Rising Star," where singers perform in real-time as people vote at home and the giant wall of voters' faces only rises to reveal an audience (and the judges) if a singer is getting enough positive votes.
If they don't get enough votes, they are thrown to some hungry lions. OK, not really, but we're getting closer to that on TV with every passing year.
But what might turn out to be an even bigger spectacle than the live-voting, live-disappointment draw is the judges panel. The three judges had to do an intro for the Michael Jackson tribute at the BBMAs and it was ... painfully awkward. Yikes. There was a "that's what she said," Kesha talking about getting "touched," Paisley talking about getting shot during "Call of Duty" or some such nonsense. Plus, none of them can read off a teleprompter to save their lives.
We aren't sure there will be video available because if ABC knows what it's doing, they'll bury that clip, but we'll post it here if we can find it.
