Former "Doctor Who" star Billie Piper is throwing out fighting words at Whovians around the world. It turns out the one-time Rose Tyler isn't quite as intimidated by Daleks as she should be, considering how often they terrorized her.

Piper, who joined the cast of Showtime's "Penny Dreadful" in episode 2, tells the Radio Times, "I've never been scared by the Daleks myself." That's an easy thing to say when you're not staring one down, though.

She definitely sees a correlation between "Penny Dreadful" and "Doctor Who," but says they aren't really all that similar. "As much as ['Penny Dreadful'] has all these supernatural elements [like 'Doctor Who'], I think it's largely about mortality," she explains. "It's about lots of people existing on the outskirts of society and becoming one and living with demons and darkness -- and I think all of that is pretty scary. Far scarier than a Dalek!"

To be fair, Rose Tyler never had much of a problem with the Daleks. In fact, she got the better of them more than once. With that in mind, it's no wonder she thinks they're no match for her. The monsters of "Penny Dreadful" definitely might be, though.
