A two year feud between two of the most legendary pianists of the modern age has seemingly come to an end. Billy Joel and Elton John had a falling in 2011, after comments made by the latter in an interview.

"He's going to hate me for this, but every time he goes to rehab, they've been light," Elton said of Joel's battle with alcoholism, "When I went to rehab, I had to clean the floors. He goes to rehab where they have TVs. I love you, Billy, and this is tough love."

Elton also said he believed Billy was "coasting" and either too scared or lazy to write another song. Joel wasn't happy about the remarks, commenting in an interview of his own, "That's his opinion. I don't [write new songs] because I don't wanna." He went on to say while John's heart was in the right place, "He tends to shoot off his mouth."

Luckily, it seems as though the two have buried the hatchet though. Both appeared at Thursday's (June 13) Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony in New York City and seemed to want to be friendly with each other once again, according to THR. "I didn't see you tonight, Mr. Joel, but I want to see you," Elton said while accepting an award. Later, when Joel introduced a performance at the ceremony, he asked, "Is Elton still here, by the way? Anyway, we're okay. Call me. It's the same phone number."

It's good news to see two of the most important songwriters of the last 50 years are able to remain friends, even after drifting apart in recent time.
