"Black Box" burst onto the primetime scene with its premiere on April 24, and quickly set up a complicated relationship between bipolar neurosurgeon Catherine Black (Kelly Reilly) and new playboy surgeon Ian Bickman (Ditch Davey). But is this the beginning of a relationship audiences will root for, or is it the start of a poisonous relationship between two peers?
"I think that that's the beauty of the show," Davey tells
Zap2it in the above interview. "I think there is a lot of grey area in the relationships and within the texture of the show. We don't know absolutely. I think there are two sides to the story."
"We really do go on a journey together," Reilly adds. "It would give too much away if we told you what happens. But there's potentially a very toxic relationship, but I think it is also potentially something that could be really healing for both of them. It just depends who decides what sort of behavior is going to win."
