'Black Swan' sings for Winona Ryder, Barbara Hershey, Vincent Cassel
The stage is getting crowded for the latest theatrical mind-bender.
Winona Ryder, Barbara Hershey and Vincent Cassel have signed on for Darren Aronofsky's supernatural dance thriller "Black Swan."
The movie follows a New York City balley dancer (Natalie Portman) who is competing for a spot left by a departing dancer (Ryder). She and a rival (Mila Kunis) find themselves in an escalating competition for the approval of the troupe director (Cassel).
Thing is, Kunis' character may not be real. Is she a ghost? Is she a figment of Portman's imagination? We'll have to wait and see.
Hershey will play Portman's mother. We're pretty sure she will be real. Or will she? Aronofsky is no stranger to mind-bending drama (see "Pi"), so it's all up for grabs.
Production begins later this month.
