Blake Lively might only be 26, but based on the persona described in her new Vogue feature, she is a fully realized person living the life she wants to live. The former "Gossip Girl" star tells the magazine that she's happy she married her husband, 37-year-old Ryan Reynolds, when he finally was at that place in his life too.

"He's going to be a great father and leader and patriarch -- he's so meant to be all of those things," she says. "The fact that he lived so much before we got together, he's the exact realized person that he should be. And so I get to share my life with the person he's become, and we get to grow from there."

That "lived so much before we got together" line seems to be pointing at his relationship to Scarlett Johansson, with whom he was married to from 2008 to 2011. Both Reynolds and Johansson have kept their marriage troubles mostly private, but based on his blissful life with Lively, it seems he worked out all the kinks during the first go-around for a better understanding of what marital life means during his second try.

Lively reflects that Reynolds helps change her thinking, especially when she gets caught up on little things. Calling her wedding a borderline "disaster" before Martha Stewart came in and saved the day, Lively got upset when a sparkler burned a mark on her wedding dress during Florence Welch's performance at the party.

"It was just so heartbreaking to me," Lively says. "And later, my dress was hanging up and Ryan said, 'Isn't that beautiful?' I said, 'What?' And he pointed to the burn. My heart just stopped, because it was such a sensitive little subject. And he said, 'You'll always remember that moment with Florence singing and the sparklers. You have that forever, right there, preserved.' Now that's my favorite part of the dress."

Lively is working on a new website called Preserve, and users can expect to see Reynolds' stamp on it as well.

"He's a part of it because everything we do in life we do together," his wife says. "If I'm working on a movie, he helps me with my character; I do the same with him. Picking out a coffee table. What we're going to eat. He's a beautiful writer -- he's written a lot of stuff for us. And he's got a great barometer and he knows me, so he will tell me if it's not as good as it can be."
