Blink-182's Travis Barker skipping overseas tour over fear of flying
His fear of flying, which Barker had before the plane crash, only worsened, and Barker has now announced that he is skipping Blink-182's Australian tour because of it.
"I'm sorry to announce I won't be joining Blink-182 on this Australian tour. I still haven't gotten over the horrific events that took place the last time I flew when my plane crashed and four people were killed, two being my best friends," Barker writes on Facebook.
Barker says he had hoped to travel to Australia by ship, but the schedules haven't worked out. The band says on Facebook that Barker will be replaced on the tour by Brooks Wackerman.
The band adds that they "knew the chances of Travis overcoming his fear of flying, which was magnified after the horrible plane crash of 2008, would be a challenge, but [they] wanted to play for [their] fans in Australia nonetheless."
"Once again, I'm sorry to all the fans," writes Barker.
