'Blossom's' Mayim Bialik breast feeds her 3 1/2 year old, sleeps on the floor
Bialik, who is a neuroscientist in her spare time (seriously) studied "hormones of attachment" for her UCLA doctorate thesis before writing the book, which details her method of attachment parenting.
In the book, Bialik reveals that she breastfeeds her three-and-a-half-year-old son Fred. In fact, Bialik wakes up four to six times a night to breast feed her son, who is just now beginning to wean. (Yes, he's got his molars and can consume solid food, though he does have some food allergies.) The above photo, which Bialik posted on her blog, shows her nursing Fred on a Subway.
Bialik and her husband, Michael Stone, sleep on the floor in a family bed with their two sons -- who, they say, have been potty trained since age 1 since they didn't use diapers, instead employing "elimination communication," in which parents look for signs that their child needs to use the bathroom.
