body-of-proof-cast-season-2.jpg "Body of Proof" fans successfully campaigned for ABC to renew the show for Season 3 -- but when it returns as a mid-season replacement at some point during the 2012-2013 television season, it's going to be a very different show.

As previously reported, three of the "Body of Proof" lead actors have been ousted. John Carroll Lynch, Nicholas Bishop and Sonja Sohn will not be returning for the third season, meaning that the majority of the detective power we're familiar with will be M.I.A. from the Philadelphia Homicide Division.

Of course, Bud Morris, Peter Dunlop, and Samantha Baker will be replaced. "Body of Proof" bosses are casting two new series regulars for Season 3. The first is Detective Tommy Sullivan, a former NYPD detective who has a romantic history with Megan ( Dana Delaney) -- twenty years ago, they broke up after she caught him cheating on her. Now he's back in her life, and looking to prove that he can be trusted... despite his charming, cocky swagger.

We'll also meet Detective Adam Schaeffer, a young, newly minted detective, who joined the police force as an act of rebellion against his high-powered defense attorney dad. He's smart, and having grown up in Philadelphia, is a bit overconfident -- which is a real pain in the butt for Tommy, his new partner.
