"Bones" stars Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz are great at comedy when they want to be. And what better time for that than in a sort-of ad for the 2014 Super Bowl? FOX has released a short video of the two driving and discussing the football game on their network.

It's one of those amusing things in which the actors are both in and out of character at the same time. Boreanaz calls his co-star "Bones," for example, while Deschanel references her sister's show, "New Girl," airing right after the game.

The actors also manage a plug for "Bones" and "Enlisted" on Fridays before Boreanaz comes up with the brilliant idea of driving to the Super Bowl.

"But first, let's pick up 'Enlisted' people, 'cause they have military cars!" he says.

That's as good a reason as any.

"Bones" airs Fridays at 8 p.m. on FOX. The Super Bowl is on the same network Sunday, Feb. 2.
