Box Office: 'Hunger Games' fights off 'Three Stooges' and 'Cabin in the Woods'

the-hunger-games-jennifer-lawrence-lionsgate.jpgIt seems that no one can knock "The Hunger Games" off its box office perch. The latest two who've tried and failed are " The Three Stooges" and "The Cabin in the Woods."

"Games" won the Friday (April 13) box office with an estimated $6.5 million, this according to Deadline. "Stooges," which stars Chris Diamantopoulos, Sean Hayes and Will Sasso, took home $5.6 million. Joss Whedon's "Cabin" came in third with $5.5 million.

"American Reunion," the fourth big screen film in the "American Pie" series, continues to hold strong in fourth place. The movie took in $3.4 million. "Titanic 3-D" rounded out the top five by collecting $3.3 million.
